Preparation

Loaded yacht Ataraxia and left Ardrossan on Saturday 4th May. The horror of an early (4am) start to catch the tide turning at the Mull of Kintyre was offset by a beautiful sunrise and a crisp, clear, breezy sailing day.
We anchored in Loch na Cille overnight, well sheltered from the Northerly wind, and sailed into Craobh at lunchtime on Sunday.
Stomping along towards the Mull of Kintyre.

New mainsail was expected to be delivered on 29th April but delays with the sailmaker meant rearranging to meet up with it on Monday at Craobh Haven. The sailmaker then called to say they couldn't get it delivered as it was a holiday weekend, and that it would not be despatched until Tuesday, which took some of the leisure out of our passage plan.

"Weather variable", or as we say in Scotland "raining".

The time at Craobh was spent on a variety of maintenance tasks such as replacing the anchor warp and the worn out wind instrument at the top of the mast. I got half way up the mast before my bottle went (they heard it crash in Oban, apparently) so poor old skipper Steve got hauled up again.

I'll lower you again just as soon as you tell me where the key for the Caramel Wafer locker is.
